4th Annual Restoration Project at CF&G!

This is the fourth consecutive year that ST&BF has participated in this annual Earth Day Restoration Project at the Christopher Farm & Gardens!  Over the years we have removed many invasive plants and planted hundreds of native trees in the "Turkey Trot" section of the Gardens in an effort to return that area to its original habitat!

I think the quote at the bottom of an e-mail that I recently received from Mr. Christopher said it so well:  “The goal isn’t to live forever. The goal is to create something that will.”

In addition to this Restoration Project, our ST&BF group participates in a variety of activities at CF&G including the upcoming National Cancer Survivors Day, casual ST&BF at CF&G outings (also known as WANDER the Wonderful Gardens), Project Tweety B.I.R.D. (Bluebird Investigation, Rejuvenation, & Discovery) bluebird trail, Daisy Days, our annual WANDER-thon, and more!

Thanks to ALL who participated!!!

Rob & Robyn from the Christopher Farm & Gardens demonstrate and instruct how to plant a bare root tree.

In less then two hours, this hardworking crew planted more than 63 trees!  As the saying goes, "Many hands make for light work!"

It's amazing how getting your hands dirty can clear the mind and cleanse the spirit!

In addition to the bare root trees, several potted trees were also planted!
